I was browsing in TJ Maxx the other day and a luxurious looking little bottle of botanical infused body oil caught my eye.
I memorized all of the details that I loved about it and ran home to recreate it for myself and to give as Valentine’s gifts.
How perfect! It’s freezing like the North Pole here in Maine right now, so my skin can definitely use some hydration.
And even more perfect: I created a free label that you can print out and use!

What is Floral Infused Body Oil?
Body oil is made of oils and used to apply to the skin to help moisturize and protect it.
It’s similar to body lotion, but lotion is made with oils, water, and other ingredients that are blended together and emulsified.
I like to think of body oil as lotion that is easier to make and has less ingredients.
Floral infused body oil has dried botanicals that are added to the oil to impart their properties into the oil. I used dried rose petals and lavender buds in this recipe for their soothing properties.

- Jojoba oil: This oil known for its similarity to human skins natural oils and lightweight and moisturizing feeling on the skin.
- Fractionated coconut oil: A product made from coconut oil that absorbs quickly and has lightweight and moisturizing feeling on the skin.
- Dried rose petals: Known for their antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Dried lavender buds: Known for their soothing and healing properties.
- Aloe vera extract: Known to moisturize skin.
- Lavender essential oil: Calming aroma!

How to Make Your Own Herbal Body Oil
Floral Infused Body Oil Recipe
- 3 t dried rose petals
- 1 t dried lavender buds
- 3.5 ounces jojoba oil
- 0.5 ounce fractionated coconut oil
- 0.5 mL aloe vera extract
- 3 drops of lavender essential oil (optional)
This recipe makes one 4 ounce bottle of body oil, if you want to make more than one then just double, triple quadruple etc. the recipe.
Additional tools needed
- 4 ounce clear glass bottles with droppers
- Avery clear glossy sticker project paper
- scissors
- funnel (optional)
- pencil
- teaspoon
- measuring cup
- dropper
1. Label containers
The first thing I like to do when I make something like this is label it so that I know what it is and so that it looks special when I gift it.

I printed my labels onto Avery glossy clear sticker project paper using my inkjet printer. Then, I just cut them out with scissors.
I like to put my labels on first because I can be messy when I am crafting and labels don’t stick well to oil.
Even though my bottles were brand new, I wanted to make sure they were super clean to stick labels to. So, I spritzed them with a spray of rubbing alcohol and dried it with a clean paper towel.
Next, I stuck my labels on my bottles.
2. Add Botanicals to Bottle
Next, put the dried flowers that you are using inside the container.
The easiest way I’ve found to get botanicals into a narrow top bottle is to use a funnel, or a piece of paper that I have rolled up into a funnel shape, and a pencil.
Hold the funnel on the top of the bottle, pour botanicals into funnel, and gently poke them into the container.
3. Mix up oils
After you get the dried flowers into the bottle, it’s time to mix up your liquid ingredients.
Pour the jojoba oil, fractionaed coconut oil, aloe extract, and lavender essential oil into a clean measuring cup and stir it with a clean spoon.
Then, just pour it into the bottle. I like to use a funnel so I don’t make too much of a mess.
Screw the top on and shake it around a bit to mix in the dried flowers and that’s it!
It will take a few days for the the botanicals to sink to the bottom.
The dried flowers will infuse into the oils over the coming days and weeks.
You can use the oil anytime. Apply a small amount to your skin and rub it in as it absorbs.
And that’s it! A beautiful little bottle of luxury botanical infused body oil to use yourself or gift!
It looks so pretty sitting on my bathroom counter!
