We’re celebrating our first blogiversary of the Time on Our Hands blog with our top 10 favorite DIY and home decor blog posts from the past year.

We can’t believe it… one year ago we launched the Time on our Hands blog!

It’s funny, when we started a year ago, we wondered if we’d have enough DIY and home decor projects to keep this going for the long term. Almost 45 projects later, we are still going stong and having a blast!

As we looked back on the past year, we wanted to highlight our favorite projects, but with a twist. Just to make it interesting, we’re going to fangirl over each other, Jill is sharing her favorite posts from Larisa and vice versa. The best part about blogging together is that we get inspired by each other every day! We hope you enjoy this curated list of our top posts from the last 12 months.

Can I tell you a secret?

I can’t tell you how many times I get so excited reading Larisa’s posts, here on the blog, that I want to stop what I’m doing and run right out and try it myself!

These faux embroidery cloth napkins where definitely one of those times!

I love the simple, natural flowers that she chose to create with fabric markers on linen napkins. And imagine the possibilities!?! I’m definitely going to have to try this craft this year.

These would also make a great birthday, Mother’s Day, or Christmas present! Wink wink!

This gemstone/rock wall decor project that Jill made was one of our most popular reels on Instagram for a good reason! I love this project because it’s unique, looks amazing… and my favorite… it’s so easy. I’m a big fan of adding natural elements to my home and this can be easily matched to your decor because nature supplies all the colors of the rainbow. It’s also a really affordable project that can add a big oomph to your home.

So Jill is way more ambitious than I am when it comes to DIY. While I would’ve been stumped about how to reface kitchen cabinets, she had a vision, a plan, and got that sh*t done! This is one of the best DIY tutorials I’ve seen about how to create your own kitchen cabinet doors, for those times when no amount of paint is going to help. These look so amazing in person, I’m just blown away.

In this post Larisa made a humongous whiteboard dry erase board in her home office!

She used the Rustoleum dry erase paint kit and painted it right onto her wall.

What a great idea to help stay organized and keep all of your brainstorming in one spot. And you can make it any size you want without trying to figure out how to hang it up.

When I read this post it made me think of all of the places you could use whiteboard paint to make impromptu dry erase boards.

I’m even thinking of using it on the inside of the doors of my office cabinet for a hidden place that I can write all my plans.

This bar cart transformation is a great idea to repurpose an old forgotten bookcase you have tucked away in your garage, attic, or find at a thrift store.

I love how this quick and easy diy looks so stylish with its gold paint and granite tile.

Every time I go to Larisa’s house, I can’t stop staring at it!

After Jill did this project, I went over to her house to take care of her cat, Kitty Kitty, and boy did I do a double take! I was like… when did she install a tile backsplash!? It wasn’t until I touched it that I realized it was fake. Seriously, this faux backsplash looks so real.

Jill and I are both totally obsessed with plants, as you can see from this post and this one, and this one too. When I created my bathroom jungle, instead of going out to buy new plants, Jill divided hers and hooked me up. Here she walks you through the process of how to propagate plants by dividing. Sharing is caring!
